The Story Behind the CB Knight

Every Chappell Barrett garment carries a quiet detail—subtle, stitched into the collar, easy to miss unless you know to look for it. A small knight in a simple stance. Not flashy. Not ornate. But strong. Steady. Still standing.

It’s more than a logo. It’s a symbol. And like everything we do, it has a story behind it.

A Toy That Never Left

The CB knight was never designed in a boardroom. He wasn’t dreamt up by a branding agency. He came from something real—Hector’s favourite childhood toy.

A small plastic knight, worn down by years of play. Carried in coat pockets, taken on holidays, kept close through hard moments. “He’s been through it all—scuffed up, battle-worn—but still standing,” as Hector puts it in this week’s Behind the Thread video.

That image stuck with us. Because it captured something we both believe in deeply: resilience.

Strength Doesn’t Have to Be Loud

This brand was never about projecting perfection. It’s about showing up. Standing tall, even when you’re tired. Quiet courage. The kind you need on the days that don’t make the highlight reel.

That’s what the CB knight stands for. Not armour that shines—but armour that’s held together. Still holding.

It’s why we place him on every garment we make. A small reminder, stitched with intention: keep going.

Clothed in Courage

Our motto—clothed in courage—isn’t just a slogan. It’s the foundation for everything we create. And the knight embodies that idea completely. He ties together the design and the meaning. The product and the purpose.

You’ll find that same spirit running through the Resilience Collection. Built to last. Made in England. Designed for real life—not the curated version of it.

We chose the name “Resilience” because it felt honest. Because we’ve needed it ourselves. And because we know we’re not the only ones.

A Garment with Meaning

When you wear something from Chappell Barrett, we want it to do more than keep you warm. We want it to say something. Not to the world—but to you.

That knight on the collar is there for a reason. He doesn’t shout. He just stays put.
