Why We Believe in Limited Runs.

The fashion industry is built on mass production—pumping out billions of garments every year, flooding stores with cheap, disposable clothing. It’s a model that thrives on excess, where quality is often sacrificed for quantity. But that’s not the way we do things.

We believe in limited runs. Not just to keep things exclusive, but because it’s the right way to make clothing—responsibly, sustainably, and with craftsmanship at the heart of every piece.

The Problem with Overproduction

It’s no secret that fashion has a waste problem. Every year, millions of tonnes of unsold stock are either destroyed or sent to landfill. Fast fashion brands churn out vast quantities of clothing, only to slash prices in endless sales or dump what doesn’t sell. It’s a cycle of overproduction that puts profit before the planet.

By keeping our runs small, we’re cutting waste before it even begins. We only make what’s needed—no mountains of excess stock, no landfill-bound leftovers. Just well-made garments, designed to last.

Sustainability & Supporting Local

A limited-run model also means we can be intentional about how and where we make our clothes. The Resilience Collection is made entirely in England, supporting small businesses and skilled makers at every stage:

Fabric sourced from Yorkshire – A region known for its textile heritage, ensuring quality from the very start.

Manufactured in London – Made in small batches by expert craftspeople, not churned out on a production line.

Embroidered in Cornwall – Working with a local business to add the finishing details.

Keeping things local reduces our carbon footprint while helping to sustain traditional industries. It’s not the cheapest or fastest way to make clothing—but it’s the right way.

No Shortcuts, No Compromises

When you choose a Chappell Barrett piece, you’re getting something built to last. We don’t cut corners. We don’t use cheap materials. We don’t rush production.

Take the Resilience Shirt—crafted from 12-rib needle cord, weighing 315g/m². It’s substantial, durable, and designed to improve with wear. Every stitch, every seam, every button has been carefully considered to create something that will stand the test of time.

The Price Reflects the Process

A premium product comes at a premium price, but that price reflects the work behind it. Unlike fast fashion brands that inflate costs with marketing gimmicks and overproduction, our pricing is straightforward—it covers the cost of high-quality materials, skilled labour, and ethical manufacturing.

Instead of making thousands of cheaply made pieces, we focus on fewer, better garments. The result? Clothing that holds its value, wears beautifully, and doesn’t need replacing every season.

A Better Way to Make Clothes

Limited runs aren’t about exclusivity for the sake of it. They’re about producing responsibly, focusing on quality, and making clothes that actually mean something.

This is what we believe in. And if you’ve made it this far, chances are, you do too.
